Your time together deserves to be celebrated

Heartfelt Dog Photography - Sheffield

About The Session

A carefully curated outdoor photography experience for you, the people you love the most and the dog who’s at the centre of it all.

My photography sessions allow you to pause, spend time together and celebrate the relationship you share as a family.

No studio walls. No pressure to pose perfectly. The freedom to relax and be yourselves.

From the fresh green fields of spring to the golden summer evenings, rusty autumn colours and the crisp beauty of winter’s frost, the landscape around Sheffield and the Peak District offers magical backdrops in every season.

Your session is carefully planned especially for you and your dog, so there's no need to worry if your dog is shy, hyper or even a bit naughty. Dogs can be kept on the lead at all times if necessary. There's no need for your dog to be perfectly behaved and you do not need to be in the photos if you’d prefer; I can edit you out.

From our first conversation to the finished photo-art on your walls, I aim to make you feel comfortable and relaxed so you have a genuinely lovely experience that you’ll want to remember.

About Me…

Hi, I'm Rachel, and this is Nala, my amazing Springer spaniel. We’ve been through a lot together these past 10 years. She joined our little family in 2017, making our little trio a quartet.

Nala was just a puppy through the rollercoaster of a year caring for my mum, who had Motor Neuron Disease. She brought us much-needed joy and laughter at such an awfully emotional and exhausting time! When my mum sadly died, Nala was right there, and she's been by my side comforting me ever since. My world was turned completely upside down, I was lost and couldn't find any words. Many hours were spent sobbing on the sofa where Nala became my security blanket (a very heavy 21 kilo blanket). We’d take long silent walks, rain or shine, and she just knew what I needed, her silly happy face and constantly wagging tail.

When I started to pick myself up and got back into long-distance running, she became the perfect running companion. We trained for a marathon together and raised over £6900 for MNDa. We've run up the lung-busting hills and explored the stunning edges of the Peak District, which became our treasured happy place.

We sadly said goodbye to Nala's big sister (Rafiki, the no-nonsense miniature Schnauzer) a few years ago. Our house had a certain emptiness about it that we thought only a dog could fill. But life had different plans…

In 2024, the running and exploring stopped; I slowed right down and my belly grew bigger and rounder. Then one day I brought home a little screaming thing and Nala's world was never the same. Now we're back to being a quartet but this 4th player is much louder, only has 2 legs, and demands a lot more attention. Nala has again adapted and is taking the role of big sis very well indeed. Watching her and my son interact warms my heart with joy and I know he loves his “Nalo”.

Over 20 years photographing families and dogs has shown me that life never stays the same for long. Life goes up and down. Unfortunately, loved ones come and go. Time stands still for no one. Our dogs are very, very special indeed and can help us navigate the storms and enjoy the calm seas.

Even though Nala pulls my arm off with excitement every time we head to the park, is partial to the perfume scent of fox poo and has increasingly selective hearing, she is MY FAVOURITE DOG in the world! I am still Nala's favourite person and she will forever be my favourite girl!

Do you have a dog worth celebrating?

How It Works…

Step One - Lets Talk

Schedule a quick call (here) so I can hear all about your wonderful family – furry and human! It's a chance for you to get to know me, chat about your dog and make sure I'm the right photographer for you.

If you feel I’m a good fit, we'll choose a date and location that works for you, taking into account the season and whether your dog needs to stay on the lead.

Once you're booked in, I'll send you everything you need to know, including ideas on what to wear and how to get the very best from your photography session.

Step Two - The Session

Let’s capture the real spirit of your dog and family. We’ll meet for a truly relaxed walk in a beautiful location, and I’ll guide you and your dog as needed to create stunning photographs. No need for stiff poses and no need to worry if the kids want to run and jump or your dog gets zoomies!

Sessions usually last between 60 - 90 minutes, but I don’t want anyone to feel pressured or hurried, so I am happy to spend longer with you if needed.

Step Three - For Your Home

Come to my cosy, purpose-built viewing room in Sheffield (with free parking right outside) and enjoy the magic of seeing your photographs come to life on the big screen.

Together, we'll choose your favourite images and create beautiful wall art and stunning albums that you'll treasure for years to come – pieces you'll love seeing in your home and looking through time and time again.

I want you to absolutely love your photographs. That's why I offer my 100% happiness guarantee – if you don't love them, I'll refund your session fee.

Can't make it to the viewing room? No problem. We can enjoy your ordering session together online via Zoom.

Wall Art you’ll treasure for a lifetime

Think of the hallway you walk down every morning, the wall above the sofa, the little corner where you sip your coffee in peace. Now picture the faces you adore looking back at you: your children mid-giggle, your partner’s arm around you, your dog’s soulful eyes watching over the room.

A home should tell your story. A beautiful framed photograph or bespoke piece of wall art turns a house into your home, a place filled with the love that lives there. Every time you pass by, you’ll be reminded of what matters most.

Children grow in the blink of an eye. Puppies become old loyal companions. We think we’ll remember every detail, but time quietly steals them. A carefully curated photograph on your wall holds onto them forever, so you can remember the happiness every single day.

Not just stored on a phone or forgotten in a folder. Great family photography deserves to be on display in your home, where you can treasure and enjoy it for many years to come.
